Monday Night Raw preview: Roman Reigns faces Braun Strowman

Monday Night Raw preview: Roman Reigns faces Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman will take on Roman Reigns on Raw and it promises to be one not to miss

Braun Strowman will take on Roman Reigns on Raw and it promises to be one not to miss

ReigRoman ns will take on Braun Strowman in a cage match as The Shield's impact on Raw begins to be felt.
One of the biggest questions in WWE was answered last week when the famous faction reunited - to devastating effect.
Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose got the band back together by laying out The Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro and Curtis Axel on a particularly chaotic episode of Miz TV.
And they went one better later in the show by giving Strowman a Shield Bomb through the announcers' desk.
Raw general manager Kurt Angle announced that, as a result, Strowman will team with Miz and The Bar to take on The Shield in the main event at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view in Minneapolis on October 22.
But the Monster Among Men won't have to wait until then to get his hands on Reigns, with the duo squaring off inside a steel cage on this week's Raw.

Live WWE Late Night Raw

Strowman has good recent cage match form, having put The Big Show through one with a running powerslam on Raw last month.
There will also be an update from Bray Wyatt - or should that be Sister Abigail - and the sinister plans they have in store for Finn Balor.
Things are usually pretty macabre where Wyatt is concerned but last week they took a turn for the truly bizarre with the Eater of Worlds appearing to turn into his sibling, complete with shawl and new voice.
Enzo ready to respond
Enzo Amore has been on the receiving end - will that change on Monday night?
Enzo Amore has been on the receiving end - will that change on Monday night?
Enzo Amore lost his much-loved Cruiserweight championship to Kalisto on last week's episode and it is unlikely the Smacktalking Skywalker is going to take that defeat lying down.
Mickie to get her hands on Bliss?
Nia Jax hoisted Alexa Bliss up high to celebrate her victory before slamming her into the mat

The feud betweent Mickie James and Alexa Bliss has been simmering quite nicely, so will this be the week the veteran finally gets her hands on the Five Feet of Fury?
Or will Alexa's best friend (of sorts) Nia Jax come between the two once again?
You can watch WWE Raw live on Sky Sports Arena from 1am on Monday night

The Shield Will Face Braun Strowman, Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro at WWE TLC

The Shield Reunites, Will Face Braun Strowman, Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro at WWE TLC

The shield faces The miz, sheamus, Cesaro and Braun Strowman on TLC

The reformation of The Shield is official, as Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose united to take down The Miz, Cesaro and Sheamus on Raw Monday night.
Shortly after the segment, Raw general manager Kurt Angle confirmed The Shield will face The Miz, Cesaro and Sheamus at the Oct. 22 TLC pay-per-view in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs match. Later on Raw, WWE announced Braun Strowman had been added to the mix to help take down The Shield.

WWE shared a replay of The Shield's beatdown of Miz, Cesaro and Sheamus:
Many on social media were excited to see the three stars working together again:
It's no secret Reigns is a divisive figure among the WWE Universe, which hasn't warmed to him too much since The Shield broke up. WWE's Peter Rosenberg believes joining together with Rollins and Ambrose is exactly what Reigns needs:
WWE wasted little time highlighting The Shield's new shirt, which will almost certainly become a top seller:

Fans have long wanted The Shield to have another run, and plenty of hints were dropped in the weeks leading up to the match announcement.
On the first episode of Raw after Reigns' win over John Cena at No Mercy, The Big Dog appeared on Miz TV, and the intercontinental champion taunted him by disparaging The Shield.
Also, The Miz and his Miztourage of Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel beat down Reigns before taunting him with The Shield's signature fist bump.
Reigns was given an IC title match against Miz the next week on Raw, and Miz continued his mind games by entering through the crowd, just like The Shield used to do.
Although Reigns took out Dallas and Axel, he was unable to win the Intercontinental Championship because Cesaro and Sheamus interfered.
Miz, Cesaro and Sheamus then left Reigns lying with a triple powerbomb and once again mimicked The Shield's fist bump.
Cesaro and Sheamus beat down Rollins and Ambrose earlier in the night, which meant all three former Shield members had common enemies.
To close Raw, Rollins and Ambrose joined Reigns in the locker room, and although they didn't speak, it seemed apparent they were ready to join forces once again.
The Shield last teamed up as a trio at Payback 2014 when it defeated Evolution. Rollins turned on Reigns and Ambrose the next night on Raw, and the WWE Universe has clamored for The Shield ever since.
Now that Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose are all faces and on the same brand, it made sense to resurrect a stable that enjoyed more success than almost any group in WWE history.
The Shield rarely had a bad match or segment when it was together, and the fact it is set to main-event TLC virtually guarantees there will be increased interest in a PPV that has often been viewed as mid-tier.

Brock Lesnar Vs. Jinder Mahal: Some Reasons Rumored Survivor Series 2017 Main Event Makes Sense.

Brock Lesnar Vs. Jinder Mahal: Some Reasons Rumored Survivor Series 2017 Main Event Makes Sense.

As WWE's most diehard fans are intent on whining all the way to December, when controversial champion Jinder Mahal makes his triumphant return to India, Mahal is now rumored to take on none other than Brock Lesnar[the beast] in the Survivor Series main event.

Brock Lesnar's next opponent could be Jinder Mahal.

After almost being axed as a pay-per-view following disappointing buyrate numbers in 2009—which were down 26% thereby limiting revenue increases to just $400,000 compared to 2008—the classic franchise has recently been home to some of WWE's biggest annual moments.

Survivor Series featured the long-awaited debut of Sting in 2015, and at last year's event, Goldberg made his in-ring return by picking up a shockingly quick victory over Lesnar in just under two minutes. Though Mahal, like most of his peers, is not on Lesnar's level as a box office draw, rubbing elbows with The Beast will only add credibility to a world title reign that came out of nowhere and continues to fight an uphill battle.

An Inter-promotional Match Makes Pay-Per-Views Special. The would-be clash between Lesnar and Mahal would represent the first inter-promotional matchup between world champions of the latest brand split era, and would pit two of WWE's strongest-booked characters against one another.

WWE used a similar formula for its unheralded Cyber Sunday pay-per-view franchise in 2006. The "Champion of Champions" special attraction match between world heavyweight champion Booker T, WWE champion John Cena and ECW champion The Big Show helped draw 228,000 pay-per-view buys. This was up from 174,000 buys for Taboo Tuesday the year before. The following year, without such an attraction, Cyber Sunday regressed back to 194,000 buys
