Edet Eyo Bassey is a Legal Practitioner, Businessman, Author, Public commentator Newspaper Columnist and Politician.

 He was born in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State of Nigeria on 2nd March, 1958.

 He attended Presbyterian Primary School, Abakaliki from 1963 – 1966 and Holy Trinity Primary school, Calabar from 1968 – 1970 where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.

In January, 1971 he began his secondary Education at Methodist Boy’s High school, Oron, where he completed his secondary education in 1975 with Grade Two (2) in the West African School Certificate Examination ( WAEC). He was admitted into the Department of History, University of Calabar in September 1976 where he graduated with BA (Hons) Second class division in 1980.
He participated in the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) between 1980/81 and served as a Teacher at Oke Ibadan High School. He returned to Calabar 1981 to join the Federal Civil Service and worked as an Investigation Officer with the Public Complaints Commission.
In September 1985, he enrolled at the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar to study for a Law degree. He obtained an LL.B Degree in Law in 1989 and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where he passed out in 1990. He is diligent and faithful to his legal practice combining same with various business endeavour including public communication, politics and community service.He is happily married with children.
Barr. Edet Eyo is from Urue Offong Oruko Local Government.
